Minority Enterprise Advocate Magazine
(MEA) is hosting the Minority Business & Professional
Network (MBPN) Inc.’s
7th Annual National Awards Gala 2005 – “Fifty
Influential Minorities In Business.”
The Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday, June
22, 2005, at The Doubletree Hotel, located at
300 Army Navy Drive in Arlington, Virginia, from
6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This black-tie awards presentation
will honor fifty individual from federal, corporate,
and the small business community who have made
significant contributions to the country’s
economy.
The Gala’s Honorary Chairperson and Keynote
Speaker will be Dr. Shelia Johnson, a visionary,
entrepreneur and philanthropist who is the President & CEO
of Salamander Farm in Middleburg, Virginia, and
who is also the nation’s first African-American
female billionaire. Previously, Dr. Johnson was
the co-founder of Black Entertainment Television
(BET).
The National Fifty Influential Minorities in
Business Awards Gala honors dynamic, diverse
men and women business leaders who share a commitment
to professional excellence and making a difference
in their communities. They are a select group
of people with notable success and have demonstrated
strong leadership in their line of business and
industry. Their accomplishment in the public
and private sectors serve to inspire and motivate
an innumerable amount of men and women of color
in the global economy. During the gala, there
will also be a special presentation to the “Man
of the Year” and the “Corporation
of the Year” awards.
